Born in 1971, I Wayan Warta Yasa is a former student of I NyomanDaging. Both are painters from school of Peliatan. With I Made Arkaand Sang Ketut, later Warta Yasa formed his own painters group called “Kawinda Artist”.
Warta Yasa is in love with wayang (shadow puppet). His paintings depict themes from Mahabarata epic and other Hindu mythologies. His strong sense of tradition is one of his key characters. Many of his best paintings take the ‘ink on paper’ as the medium.
Beside painting, Warta Yasa also teaches painting regularly to visitors or tourists who come to Bali.
